You can type field names, constants, arithmetic operators, numeric and other functions, and logical variables. Other methods of putting a field into a criteria cell include double-clicking the field in the Fields list, dragging the field from the Fields list, or selecting a field from the drop-down menu that is available in any active Expression cell.

Defining Variables Variable names and labels. The complete database field (column) name is used as the variable label.
