Agreed to finance and distribute the film. Expecting to release the film in 1993, Warner Bros. decided to bail out in 1992 when Williams failed to p roduce a satisfactory version of his film. The Completion Bond Company, a motion picture insurance company, paid Warner Bros. off and took over the film from Williams. They brought the production to Hollywood and attempted to salvage the pieces by creating a Disney-like musical (a la Al a d d i n). Di s n e y, noting the superior animation of Williams, and the Aladdinlike similarities, bought the film and released it through its art-house distribution channel, Miramax Films.
